Mixed Media techniques explore include:

Hand-Drawn Designs:

Use colored pencils, markers, or pens to hand-draw simple designs or illustrations directly onto the front of blank note cards. You can create floral patterns, geometric shapes, doodles, or even write personalized messages or quotes.

Watercolor Washes:

Apply watercolor paint in a soft wash over the front of blank note cards to create a colorful background. Let the paint dry completely, then use pens or markers to add hand-lettered messages, simple illustrations, or accents to the cards.

Stamped Patterns:

Use rubber stamps and ink pads to create repeating patterns or motifs on the front of blank note cards. You can use pre-made stamps or carve your own designs from rubber blocks. Experiment with different ink colors and stamp arrangements to create unique patterns.

Embossed Texture:

Use an embossing folder and a die-cutting machine (or embossing heat tool) to add texture to blank note cards. Place the card inside the embossing folder and run it through the die-cutting machine, or use the embossing heat tool to apply heat to the folder and create raised designs on the cardstock.

Washi Tape Accents:

Use decorative washi tape to add colorful accents and borders to blank note cards. Simply tear or cut strips of washi tape and adhere them to the front of the cards in patterns or designs. You can also layer multiple tapes for added visual interest.

Patterned Paper Collage:

Cut out small shapes or strips of patterned paper and adhere them to the front of blank note cards to create a collage effect. Mix and match different patterns and colors to create unique designs.

Ink Blending:

Use blending tools or sponge daubers to apply ink to the front of blank note cards, creating a gradient or ombre effect. You can use multiple colors to create a colorful background, or stick to a single color for a more subtle look.

Handwritten Calligraphy:

Practice your calligraphy skills by writing personalized messages or sentiments on the front of blank note cards using a calligraphy pen or marker. Experiment with different lettering styles and flourishes to add elegance and personality to your cards.

Pressed Flowers or Leaves:

Press small flowers or leaves between the pages of a heavy book to flatten them, then adhere them to the front of blank note cards using glue or double-sided tape. Arrange the flowers or leaves in a pleasing design to create botanical-themed cards.

Decorative Stickers or Embellishments:

Use adhesive-backed stickers, rhinestones, sequins, or other embellishments to decorate the front of blank note cards. You can create simple designs or use the stickers to add accents and focal points to your cards.

These simple homemade techniques allow you to create personalized note cards that are perfect for sending messages, greetings, or invitations to friends and loved ones. Experiment with different materials, colors, and designs to make each card unique and special!
